When we first set eyes upon an abandoned, derelict former farmhouse, we saw the potential to create a beautiful property to share with family, friends and guests. We opened the doors in Easter 2015 and have not looked back since.
This isn't just a holiday house; it's our home away from home. We know the love, care, and attention we've poured into creating it will be felt throughout your stay at Ty Carmel.
THE REBUILD
Having first set eyes on what was then known as Prys Owain Fawr (now Ty Carmel) on a VERY cold and wet January morning in 2013, a mixture of naivety and bravery in equal measure lead us to become the proud owners of a complete wreck some 6 months later.
Upon discovering the roof was in an imminent state of collapse, asbestos was on site and the place was home to bats, owls & sparrowhawks, it quickly became clear that this was going to require more than a lick of paint.
